A Class 148 at Sheffield Midland in the late 1960s. Later known as a Class 114 DTC(L), this vehicle was classified as Class 148 at the time this slide was taken - believed to be late 1960s due to the presence of green liveried vehicles. Unusually, it lacks the yellow line above the first class accommodation, although window stickers are visible - it is unlikely to have been declassified by this early stage. One of the ER route learning Cravens sets (977125 + 977123) at Sheffield Midland in April 1983. It still has it's rubber pad between the cab window and the first "passenger" window, which was fitted to avoid tablets damaging the bodywork when exchanged on the move. Ian Francis.
